Analytical Review of Cybersecurity for Embedded Systems

چکیده
To identify the key factors and create landscape of cybersecurity for embedded systems (CSES), an analytical review existing research on CSES has been conducted. The common properties systems, such as mobility, small size, low cost, independence, limited power consumption when compared to traditional computer have caused many challenges in CSES. conflict between requirements computing capabilities makes it critical implement sophisticated security countermeasures against cyber-attacks system with resources, without draining those resources. In this study, twelve influencing identified: (1) components; (2) characteristics; (3) implementation; (4) technical domain; (5) requirements; (6) problems; (7) connectivity protocols; (8) attack surfaces; (9) impact cyber-attacks; (10) ESs; (11) solutions; (12) players (manufacturers, legislators, operators, users). A Multiple Layers Feedback Framework Embedded System Cybersecurity (MuLFESC) nine layers protection is proposed, new metrics risk assessment. This will enable practitioners conduct assessment their regard identified aspects. MuLFESC, feedback from system-components layer system-operations could help “Security by Design” design stage at bottom layer. study provides a clear and, therefore, find better comprehensive solutions
